  • Real Madrid have unveiled their new kits for 2016/17 season
  • The club is preparing for face PSG and Chelsea in their pre-season fixtures
  • They will also face Bayern Munich and Sevilla before kicking off their league campaign

Cristiano Ronaldo (L) of Real Madrid CF hugs his teammate Jese Rodriguez (2ndL) as they celebrate with their team mates at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium the day after winning the UEFA Champions League Final match against Club Atletico de Madrid on May 29, 2016 in Madrid, Spain. The club launched its official kits for the 2016/17 season on Thursday July 14.

Real Madrid fans took to Twitter to express their views regarding the club’s new kits for the upcoming season. Los Blancos unveiled the official kits on Thursday as they continued to prepare for yet another exciting season, having bagged the Champions League last year but narrowly missed out on the league title. Zinedine Zidane’s men will be hoping to go all out for the treble (Champions League, Copa del Rey and La Liga titles), but will have to face still competition from their league rivals Barcelona, including their city neigbours Atletico Madrid.

The home kit has a combination of white as the main color and the famous Adidas stripes in purple rather than the traditional gold or black. It also features a polo neck rather than the usual round neck.

The away kit, on the other hand, has purple as the main color. The traditional Adidas stripes are white in color and run along the shoulders and sleeves. Check out the photos posted by the Spanish giants on their official Twitter account:

A majority of Real Madrid fans were pleased with the design as they looked forward to the upcoming season. We have compiled some of the reactions on Twitter:

Los Blancos face French giants Paris Saint-Germain on Thursday July 28 for their International Champions Cup fixture, before facing Premier League side Chelsea two days later in the same competition. They will  then play rivals Bayern Munich on Thursday 4 August, then face La Liga side Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup five days later.
