Euro 2016 has reached the semi-final stage and we have picked out a good-value 13/2 double on Wednesday and Thursday’s matches that will determine which countries contest Sunday’s showdown at the Stade de France.

Our Euro 2016 semi-final double is:

Portugal v Wales – Over 2.5 goals (17/10)
France to beat Germany in 90 minutes (24/13)

Marathonbet are offering best odds about both selections in our Euro 2016 semi-final double, which would return £76.85 for a £10 stake if all correct.

Here is the reasoning for the selections (both matches kick off at 20:00 BST):

Portugal v Wales – Over 2.5 goals (Wednesday)

The bookmakers are quoting Portugal as favourites to reach the Euro 2016 final even though they have yet to win a match at the tournament in 90 minutes, each of their games having been all square at the end of normal time.

On that basis, it’s difficult to argue against Wales being the worthier finalists and Chris Coleman’s side are certain to have plenty of backers at around 3/1 to prevail in 90 minutes as well as 6/4 to qualify.

But will their fantastic 3-1 victory over Belgium prove to be the high point for the Welsh? It could turn out to be more difficult against a stubborn Portugal side who, of course, have the mercurial Cristiano Ronaldo in their line-up who is capable of anything.

With Ronaldo and his Real Madrid team-mate Gareth Bale on the pitch, we think there should be goals and 17/10 for three or more to be scored in 90 minutes looks a big price.

France to beat Germany in 90 minutes (Thursday)

Although Germany won the World Cup quarter-final between these countries 1-0 two years ago, we think it will be a different story with France now on home soil.

Les Bleus were excellent in sweeping aside Iceland by a 5-2 margin in the quarter-finals and their creative stars Antoine Griezmann and Dimitri Payet continue to dazzle.

Olivier Giroud is in strong goalscoring form and you sense now that the French feel their name really is on the trophy.

Germany were unconvincing in edging past Italy on penalties and this is expected to be the end of the Euro 2016 road for the world champions.
